Georgette Peterson, CPRS, CISR, unlike everyone else in the agency, Georgette is not a native East Tennessean. She was born and raised in Belgium and earned her master’s in Economics and Business Administration at the University of Antwerp. She met her husband, Robert, at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium. They have two sons, Erik and Chris, a daughter, Sara, and three very special grandchildren, Finley, James and Tristan.

Georgette was an at home mom until her youngest child started school. She has been working in the insurance industry since January 1990, learning the business from the bottom up, first as a technician at TIS, then joining one of TIS’s vice presidents, Jerry Walker, in setting up an independent agency. She got her insurance license and eventually earned the CPSR and CISR designations.  She has since worked in several independent agencies in Knoxville, specializing in accounting and commercial lines customer service and, on occasion, as a teacher and systems trainer.  Her many years in the business have given her a well grounded knowledge of commercial insurance. Her understanding of the various aspects of commercial insurance has expanded over the years through study, hard work and close working relationships with a few very good agents who were always willing to share their knowledge and provide support, for which she is eternally grateful. Her main goal has always been to provide the best possible service to the agency’s clients.
